
About
Laura Hale was born in the small town of Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Canada. She studied at the University of Regina (Saskatchewan) and Emily Carr University (British Columbia) before taking the position as Head of Props with a professional theatre company. That work experience laid the foundation of her art practice developing her interest in collaboration, storytelling, creative problem solving, project-based work, installation art, public art, and the exploration and potential of a wide range of materials to express her ideas. She works full time in the arts, culture, recreation and leisure sector developing and managing diverse creative projects and leading community-arts residencies while maintaining her studio-based art practice.
